Why Get Climate Neutral Certified?

Climate change impacts the places we care about deeply, as well as community health, the farming systems we depend on to grow our food, and countless other vital aspects of life. From supporting organic farming to becoming Climate Neutral Certified, we are working to take responsibility for our part in helping protect the planet for today’s kids and for future generations.

How we got Climate Neutral Certified:

Measure

We measured all greenhouse gas emissions from Zbar products. That includes emissions from our ingredients, packaging, baking and shipping.

Reduce

We set science-based greenhouse gas reduction targets and we have time-bound plans underway to reduce emissions. Our plans include energy efficiency projects in our bakeries, transitioning away from fossil fuels, and reducing ingredient and packaging emissions.

Our Contribution

To contribute toward global progress to reach net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, we invest in projects that help reduce emissions.

These projects include the distribution of efficient, solar cookstoves to communities in Madagascar and the support of a wind energy project in the Maharashtra region of India. These projects help reduce emissions and improve the health and well-being of local communities.

Organic Farming & Climate Change

Organic and sustainably grown food is an important link between people’s well-being and a healthy planet – and has always been a staple of Zbar.

Organic Farming

Organic farming is a powerful tool in the fight against climate change. Compared with conventional agriculture, organic farming uses less fossil fuels and stores more carbon in the soil, reducing the amount of greenhouse gases released into the atmosphere. Organic farming also results in far fewer chemicals polluting soil and water.*

Zbar is certified USDA Organic® and Zbar Protein uses 70% organic ingredients.
